Karate Zen is affiliated to Karate South Africa via its Provincial Units. Karate South Africa, the official governing body of Karate within South Africa.
Karate South Africa (KSA) is the internationally recognized governing body of Karate in South Africa. The goal of this association is to unite the various affiliations and provinces under one banner in order to develop Karate as a sport.

The World Karate Federation (WKF), is the ONLY KARATE body recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The FMK (WKF) regulated all aspects of the sport with a view to getting karate accepted into the Olympic Program

The Karate Association Western Province was formed on 13 June 1992.
This body is a result of the unity initiative and was a merger between three structures, nl. the NOSC Karate Union (National Sports & Olympic Commission), the COSAS Karate Association & NAKA WP (National Amateur Karate Association).
